My journey building a website company

So I’ve decided to start writing about how I’m developing my business and how I’m going about it

I’m doing this for a few reasons, firstly I’m going to use this as a bit of an outlet to get things out that’s I’m thinking about, secondly I want to learn to write better and more blog content and. This seems like a good way to start and lastly I think some people may be interested in how and why I do things

Some background

I currently run and own a repair shop in Bexhill-On-Sea called Bexhill Computer Repairs I’ve run this for over 7 years now, sometimes with staff and sometimes on my own (which I do currently) I’ve always coded and built websites on the side for people I know or my business customers from the repair shop that have asked me but generally until the last year I have passed those jobs to another company I know locally.

I get itchy feet with repairs, I also had a shop in Eastbourne which I ran for years then sold as I wanted a change in path. I then ended up in another repair shop in another town within a couple of years…

I’m now building my website business nearly full time and employing people to cover me on the repairs business and just overseeing it.

I’m looking forward to doing something new (but also something I have good experience in so I don’t feel like I’m going in blind) and looking forward to documenting my journey as I go

Why I decided to build a second business in building websites

Through my shop, someone walked in one day looking for office space. This turned out to turn into an amazing relationship with a marketing company that has similar goals and mindset to me that has made me want to push this further and make it a full-time pursuit. I’ll write more about this in the future. Also, I enjoy a new challenge and feel like this is something I need. My repair business keeps me busy but I don’t need to be a part of it to run smoothly.

Thanks for reading and I hope you choose to continue following my journey. If anyone has any questions now or in future blogs and posts you can contact me via www.speedywebsite.co.uk or on linked in
